IBM Storage Offerings Announced Print E-mail
Following earlier announcements from HP on their MSA range of storage, IBM has made changes to its storage offerings too.

TheRegister reports that IBM have, "been announcing new storage products at a quickfire rate,"

In the article, Steve Legg seeks to explain the layout of the storage offerings, with SAN for block access and NAS for file access.  "Up to a point, customers will want VDS" - Virtual Disk System - "which includes the DS3000 and DS5000.  Above this it's XIV unless you need things like mainframe-attach or 3-site replication in which case it's the DS8000," he comments.
