IBM/Fujifilm promise 35TB on a tape Print E-mail
A prototype data cartridge, developed by IBM and Fujifilm, promises up to 35TB on a single cartridge.

The prototype, discussed on the zdnet.co.uk website, is claimed to show that commercial digital tape products still have plenty of room for continued development.

With an areal data density or up to 29.5 billion bits per square inch, such a cartridge would be able to store around 44 times the capacity of the LTO generation 4 cartridge.
