It wasn't too long ago that HP announced that it would end development and support of OpenVMS.
This doesn't seem to have reached every user.
Maybe it is a good job since behind the scenes many detailed negotiations appear to have been taking place.
The culmination of these is that a new company has been granted the licence to take on the challenge of taking OpenVMS forward independently from HP.
If anybody is not aware of the latest news then I will be posting more information and links in the near future.
I also intend to start a discussion about what this news means to existing and potentially new , yes you read that correctly, potentially new users of the OpenVMS operating system, and what options they may have.
Hopefully this discussion will have others contributing on the merits and disadvantages of various approaches.
